About Our Association
The For Renewal Environmental Association / Megújulásért Környezetvédelmi Egyesület is a non-governmental and non-profit organization that strives to operate in all regions of Hungary. We promote the social integration of young people through different topics, form a community of youth leaders and support young people in their non-formal education and professional achievements in Budapest and surrounding provinces of Hungary.
Our Works
We have been participating in youth projects in Hungary since our establishment. We help other organizations implement youth projects. In addition, we also participate in domestic and international projects ourselves to gain enough experience to work on our own projects. We provide opportunities for young people who want to implement workshops, seminars and training courses in our association and increase the number of our members.

The Endless Journey of Plastic (2022-3-HU01-KA152-YOU-000095197)
In September 2023, the For Renewal Environmental Association hosted an impactful youth exchange project titled "The Endless Journey of Plastic" in the vibrant city of Budapest. The event brought together young participants from five countries—Ireland, Turkey, Romania, Slovakia, and Iceland—who united in the fight against one of the most pressing environmental issues of our time: plastic pollution.
This week-long exchange, held from September 2nd to 9th, focused on the critical environmental challenges posed by plastic waste. Through collaborative learning, participants explored the life cycle of plastic, its detrimental effects on ecosystems, and innovative solutions to tackle this ever-growing crisis. Our mission was clear: to raise awareness, inspire action, and empower youth to be agents of change in their communities.

“Later” Means too Late (2023-1-LT02-KA152-YOU-000120901)
The “Later” Means too Late project, implemented in Lithuania from February 24 to March 2, 2024, brought together partners from Czechia, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Lithuania, and Turkey to address one of the most pressing global challenges—climate change and global warming. Recognizing the urgent need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable practices, the project aimed to raise awareness about the causes, consequences, and solutions to the climate crisis. Through interactive workshops, scientific research dissemination, seminars, and digital awareness campaigns, participants from six different nations explored ways to combat global warming and encouraged environmentally friendly behaviors. The project not only fostered international cooperation and non-formal learning but also provided equal opportunities for young people with fewer resources to develop social, linguistic, and leadership skills. By creating a platform for knowledge exchange and activism, the project sought to empower youth, influence communities, and inspire long-term action for a more sustainable future.

Time is the only thing we can’t recycle (2023-3-IT03-KA152-YOU-000178826)
The project, held in Italy from June 29 to July 6, 2024, successfully brought together partners from Azerbaijan, Hungary, Italy, North Macedonia, Portugal, and Turkey to raise awareness about waste management, recycling, and sustainable resource use. During the week-long initiative, participants gained valuable insights into the environmental challenges caused by increasing waste production and the depletion of natural resources. Through engaging workshops and hands-on activities, they learned how to effectively recycle materials such as plastic, metal, glass, and paper, and were educated on the importance of environmentally-friendly waste disposal practices. The project also emphasized the critical need to protect natural resources for future generations and fostered a sense of responsibility for the environment. Participants not only deepened their understanding of sustainability but also improved their English communication skills, collaborated with peers from different cultural backgrounds, and gained meaningful experience in Erasmus+ projects. The project successfully promoted cooperation and intercultural understanding, leaving participants motivated to adopt sustainable consumption habits and advocate for a cleaner, healthier planet.

Slow City, Green Energy, Sustainable Living (2023-1-TR01-KA152-YOU-000138127)
This project, coordinated by Turkey and held from May 20 to May 27, 2024, successfully brought together partners from Hungary, Italy, Poland, Portugal, and Turkey to promote the Cittaslow movement. This international initiative, which began in 1999, focuses on preserving local cultures, protecting the environment, and improving the quality of life in the face of rapid urbanization and globalization. Throughout the project, participants explored the negative impacts of fast-paced, stress-filled lifestyles and the growing trend of individualization, learning how to foster socialization, slow living, and the values of traditional communities. The project helped young people embrace healthier, more balanced lives by encouraging them to reject the pressures of modern, fast-paced living. In addition, participants gained deeper insights into the Erasmus+ program, expanding their understanding of intercultural exchange, volunteerism, and active participation in social and civic life. By embracing the Cittaslow philosophy, the project inspired young people to take responsibility for their communities and promote healthier, socially engaged lifestyles for themselves and future generations.

Through a blend of education, practical skill development, and cross-cultural exchange, participants were equipped with the tools needed to promote sustainable practices such as recycling, energy conservation, and environmental activism. The project fostered leadership, encouraged community engagement, and established a network of environmental advocates across the participating countries. By promoting advocacy, interdisciplinary learning, and long-term sustainability, the project succeeded in inspiring lasting change in local communities, empowering young leaders to make a meaningful impact on the fight against climate change and pollution.
